2009 The Year of Opportunity!
12/17/2008 11:38 AM - If you are like me, I was discouraged after this year's election. The redneck in me said grab the wife, kids, dogs, and guns and hunker down to wait for Jesus's return. The Holy Spirit convicted me, and said this is a time of opportunity, like no other, to reach people, and especially men, for Christ.
Many men are experiencing tremendous difficulty with jobs, finances, family, and faith. They are looking for answers, many times in all the wrong places. They have grown disillusioned, frustrated, and hopeless as they experience one defeat after another. We, as Godly men who know God's Word, and therefore the truth, have the answer. The answer is Jesus Christ, and we need to share that with our brothers. We have tried to be the lone ranger far too long and have been ineffective in our society. It is time to join forces and take each other's back, supporting and encouraging each other as never before. When men of God get serious about praying for each other and making an impact for the Kingodom of Christ in our homes, churches, and communities, exciting things happen.
Remember gentlemen, "As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens anther." (Proverbs 27:17 NIV) Therefore, let us hone each other to a razors edge!
Don't be disheartened. Look at this upcoming year as a tremendous opportunity to make a huge impact for Jesus!
